All About Packaging

We thought it would be a good idea to show everyone how we do our packaging, here at Love Sugar Design:

1.) Each of our prints are wrapped in a protective polypropylene bag.

2.) Prints are then secured between two
sheets of durable, cardboard padding.

3.) The print is then packed in a stay-flat mailer and sent to you, our dear customers.

Become a Fan

Finally! I just created a page for us on Facebook. I've been meaning to do so for a while now. It seems that these are the things you need to do to get traffic and get your work noticed. That's all fine with me, because it's just another creative outlet and it beats working in an office for 9 hours a day (sorry, Jimmy).

Etsy Finds

Our good friend Oscar has a very cool shop on Etsy under the shop name "Sogeth", where he sells original sculptures, toys and illustrations.

It's good inspiration to have an extremely talented friend like him.

Hope Grows

So I really wanted to create a print featuring the image of an acorn.
At first I had it figured for a monogram, but I really liked the way it was coming out, and felt it needed to say something.

Hope you all like it.

End of November...

We had a great Thanksgiving, and we have so much to be thankful for.

Family, food, good friends and let's not forget health.

I was finally able to post a new print to our Etsy shop. It's called "Bookish Type", which is a play on words because it is a custom monogram.

I hope it makes someone smile.

Design on a Budget

Last year they opened up Ikea here in South Florida. It opened in Sunrise, which is about 40 minutes north of Miami.
I've been waiting for this store for about 10 years. I know it doesn't have the best reputation for quality, but the price surely can't be beat.
Recently we took the drive up and made a day of it.
We bought a truckload of furniture, from a desk to a bunk bed and mattress, shelves and bedding--all for under $800.
It hasn't been long, but the furniture in the boys' room seems to be holding up thus far--which is remarkable considering Jude.

Let's Fall in Love

Why shouldn't we?

Just added this print the other day to our etsy store. I'm in the process of moving our blog over onto blogger and catching up with the posts!

Due North...

I was going through our NY pictures and thought I'd post one.
We really love that place.

Jimmy went to Pratt, the art school in Brooklyn, so he really knows his way around the city.

I'm a Miami girl and my blood is too thin for the north. Here it never gets colder than the mid 30's and that's for one day, every other year.

Still, New York is a remarkable place to visit and find inspiration.

Just posted this print on Etsy.

When he was in high school, my father had sculpted a fox head out of papier mache. He kept it in the garage, on his work bench for years, and until he died.

I miss him and my fond memory of his cluttered, fluorescent-lit garage.
